This is just a quick post, in light of a few emails Rhoddy and I have picked up today after a few days incommunicado in the jungle, to say that we are totally fine despite the various natural disasters that seem to have befallen this part of the world recently. We are still in Borneo, and have been at Uncle Tan's wildlife camp in the middle of nowhere on the Kinabatangan river, sleeping in 3 sided huts, washing with river water and drinking rice wine mixed with vodka. Needless to say, we looked and smelt fabulous when we arrived back to Sandakan, so after a night doing karaoke in a small room where the only English-language disc was 'Slow Rock' (Dust in the Wind, Love Hurts...delicious) last night, we spent today illicitly using the pool - and water slide designated under-12s only - at the one posh hotel in town. All is well.
